2008 Grand D’Or at the Michelangelo International Wine Awards makes it 3 in a row for Nitida! This year it was for the 2005 shiraz, a wine we’ve held in high regard for a long time – it was just a matter of time before it received the recognition it deserved. Last year our double gold was for the 2006 semillon, (the same wine that won “best semillon” on the Terroir Wine show) and in 2006 it was for a the 2005 Pinotage. This shows the high quality of all the wines in our Nitida portfolio, not just the Sauvignon Blanc for which we are best known.

And the recognition didn’t stop there..... our sauvignon blanc (club select) showed its consistent quality by adding another piece of gold to its already glittering pedigree at Veritas while two more golds (shiraz 06 and semillon 07) were received at Swiss Air International.

The recent Platters ratings endorse these awards with its mainly red entries and two 4½ stars given to the sauvignon blanc and a new edition to the stable, the Noble Late Harvest.

The Coronata is another wine we think has a massive future – Wine Magazine and Platters both rate the 2008 as one of the best of this new breed of white blends with 4 stars.

Add to this recognition numerous silver and bronze medals across the entire range and you can understand why Nitida has the reputation of one of the most awards cellars of its size in the country.

At Michelangelo 2007, in the video presentation, Tony Aspler, Canadian Wine master said (about the Nitida Semillon) “we tasted an astonishing wooded semillon and gave it double gold. I can’t wait to find out what it is so that I can go out and find it.
