Tasting Notes
Remember Christmas mince-pies, sweet violets hug deep blackberry fruit, pot pourri with wild mushrooms, cracked pepper and wet forest floor.
Winemaker Comments
As usual these grapes were picked from a vineyard on Bloemendal. We have learnt over the years to pick this block at full ripeness, even though the grapes themselves take on a totally stressed look - this is when they perform at their best. We again hand punched the grapes in open fermenters with a 2 week post harvest maceration. 12 months aging in 2nd fill barrels rounds this wine out beautifully.
